My dad and I started BJ Pinchbeck's Homework Helper when I was 9 years old. I am now 23 years old and graduated last year from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, majoring in Film and Video Production. Currently I enjoy doing my freelance film and video work in Philly.
The fun part of having a popular site is all of the publicity. Since we started our site in 1996, I have appeared on Good Morning America, KDKA-TV (Pittsburgh), and Oprah Winfrey (Oxygen Network). I have also had a bunch of interviews and picture sessions with reporters from newspapers and magazines like USA Today, The New York Times, Family PC Magazine, The Boston Globe, Newsweek, People Magazine and Pittsburgh Magazine. Having your own web page can be a lot of fun, especially when it gets real popular. At one point we were getting more than 10,000 visitors every day and between 20 and 40 e-mail messages. The toughest part is trying to keep up with all of the changed links and answering our e-mail. I usually answer all e-mail quickly, but sometimes it may be a few days before I can get back to viewers. If you are thinking of starting your own site, you really have to put a ton of time into it if you want it to be successful. Thanks for checking out my site. Please drop me an e-mail if you have any comments or questions. |
